In the post-genome era, translating knowledge and understanding of genome level variation into phenotypic variation exploitable for crop improvements is a new frontier for plant breeders. The Mueller lab has been developing databases to store genotype, sequence, phenotype and experimental metadata and breeder-centric tools to manage, access, cross-reference, analyze and visualize the data. Among the tools are ontology browser, QTL analyzer, barcoder, experiment and cross designer, fieldbook application (for Android tablets) and genomic-estimated breeding values predictor. This session will guide you through the data and tools in our databases that are particularly relevant to breeders and that you can use to meet your bioinformatics needs.
