We are developing PlantGenIE.org (Plant Genome Integrative Explorer) - a web resource that facilitates comparative transcriptomics analysis of plant species. We include ComPlEx as a resource for visualizing co-expression network similarity across species using Affymetrix microarray expression data from arabidopsis, poplar and rice. We also include dedicated genome portals for poplar (PopGenIE.org) and spruce (ConGenIE.org) to allow in-depth exploration of genomics data in these species.

Our aim is to provide users with a consistent user experience and interface, providing the necessary tools to navigate between the included plant species. We will compliment and link to existing resources developed by others while developing resources with a particular focus on expression visualization tools and analyses. Included tools allow users to perform analyses such as the identification of orthologs on the basis of both expression similarities in addition to sequence similarity.

We will continue to incorporate additional species into the tools, for example extending ComPlEx to include RNASeq based transcriptional networks from poplar and spruce.
