Harnessing the potential of OMIC data for improving plant productivity is a key approach for addressing the need for food, feed and fuel. The  dramatic increase in the availability of OMIC data has shifted the industry bottleneck from generation of such data, to its integration and analysis. To address this bottleneck, Evogene has established a plant discovery and development infrastructure that combines deep understanding of plant science and cutting edge computational technology to enhance seed traits through biotechnology and advanced breeding methods. This proprietary infrastructure is capable of integrating and analyzing vast amounts of OMIC data, and supports Evogene’s multiple strategic collaborations with world leading seed companies. Under these collaborations, Evogene initiated to date 21 product programs for developing improved traits for yield, abiotic stress tolerance, and biotic stress resistance targeting the world’s major crops.
