Tripal provides a framework to help research communities organize, publish and make searchable biological data, in particular for genomics, genetics, and breeding data.   Tripal is designed to help reduce the costs and time required to create such a site and utilizes community established data standards.  This talk will provide a brief introduction to Tripal, including its core functionality and tools, and will provide an overview of funded upcoming expansions.  Some of these upcoming projects include expanded tools for data collection, tools for breeders, integration with the Galaxy workflow system to support analytical tools, and tools to enhance big data transfer rates.
