Canola (rapeseed) (Brassica napus) is an important oil seed crop. It is on second position in the oil seed crop behind to soybean and has been brought much attention these days as the alternate biofuel source to replace the fossil fuels. However, the unpredictable and rapid weather patterns these days require more secure and sustainable production of the crop. Rapeseed requires low temperatures for induction of flower development. However, freezing temperatures can often cause physiological damage. Thus, we searched NCBI Brassica database to isolate genes that are highly expressed in cold stress. We isolated 16 transcripts that are encoded transcription factors. Of the 16 transcripts, we isolated 14 full-length cDNAs by 5’- and 3’-RACE analysis. We are going to show the expression profiles of the 14 transcripts were corresponded to the cold-treatment in this poster.
