For an increasing number of researchers around the world, KeyGene’s CropPedia has become the central software platform for integration of the ever increasing amount of genomic, genetic, transcriptomics and gene annotation data. The platform enables a community of researchers to work together on discovery of Lead genes, having all relevant data easily accessible in one secure and robust environment. Re-sequenced and annotated variation of germplasm collections on a genome-wide scale as well as within genes can be selected end filtered in order to connect gene function with germplasm variation. We will present some of the functionalities of CropPedia and discuss the novel developments within KeyGene in relation to the challenge of connecting various data types (Big Data) and phenotypic data to the genomic data already captured in CropPedia.
