Enhancing Decision-Making through Public-Private Partnerships: Leveraging Land Use, Natural Resources, and Environmental Data
Enhancing Decision-Making through Public-Private Partnerships: Leveraging Land Use, Natural Resources, and Environmental Data
Session ID#: 249807
Session Description:
In a world with increasingly complex natural resource management challenges that are magnified by population growth, economic instability, and climate variability, effective decision-making at local, national, and international levels is more critical than ever. Public-private partnerships are a vital and often under-utilized mechanism for harnessing data to inform policy and management practices, especially in the water, agriculture, and land management sectors that tend to have more decentralized and remote data collection. This session seeks to explore current and future innovative ways in which public-private partnerships can facilitate data sharing and collaboration among diverse stakeholders, enhancing decision-making processes that enhance food and water security, address environmental issues, and improve livelihoods.
