Session Proposal: AI-Powered Forecasting of Crop Yields Using Climate and Satellite Data (AGU25)

GC022
AI-Powered Forecasting of Crop Yields Using Climate and Satellite Data

Session ID#: 251172

Session Description:
This session explores advances in crop yield prediction using machine learning, remote sensing, and climate data. We invite contributions that integrate Earth observations (e.g., NDVI, EVI, NDWI), open-source climate datasets (e.g., NOAA GSOM, NASA), and modern AI techniques to improve understanding of crop performance under varying environmental conditions. We encourage studies that evaluate model accuracy, feature importance, region-specific modeling, and the implications for food security and agricultural resilience. This session aims to foster collaboration across informatics, biogeosciences, and global change communities by highlighting scalable, data-driven methods that support sustainable agriculture and climate adaptation strategies.
