Session Description:
Coastal regions are experiencing rapid transformations driven by sea-level rise, salinization, land-use change, and environmental variability. These changes profoundly impact coastal agriculture, aquaculture, wetlands, and mangrove ecosystems, with cascading effects on food systems, biogeochemistry, and ecosystem services. This session invites contributions that explore the biophysical and socio-environmental dynamics of coastal landscapes, with a focus on understanding, monitoring, and managing ecosystem change. We welcome studies using field data, remote sensing, AI, and data-driven modeling approaches to assess land-water interactions, track biogeochemical dynamics, evaluate the resilience of coastal ecosystems, and guide adaptation strategies. Interdisciplinary work that bridges natural and social sciences or engages with community-based solutions is also encouraged. This session aims to foster dialogue across disciplines and geographies to advance coastal sustainability and resilience.
