Urban Ecohydrology under Climate Change and Urbanization: Processes, Quantifications, and Applications

Session Description:
Urban ecohydrology plays a crucial role in addressing various challenges arising from urbanization and climate change, contributing to the resilience, sustainability, and livability of cities. While it has been regarded as the theoretical foundation of nature-based solutions to overcome these challenges, the interactions between urban environments, society, and the hydrological processes are poorly quantified due to the high complexity and heterogeneity. We invite abstracts that offer new insights on urban ecohydrology and are particularly interested in field and modelling studies that: (1) quantify the water and energy budget in cities; (2) address their spatio-temporal variability; (3) evaluate their capacity to overcome the challenges arising from urbanization and environmental change; and (4) provide novel insights for urban environmental management.
