Deep Structure and Geodynamics of Orogenic Belts

Session ID#: 75204

Session Description:
The complex deep structures of orogenic belts record the tectonic processes in deep time, constitute the evidence chain between the past and the present, and are the keys to reveal the evolution of the earth, especially the formation and evolution of the supercontinents. There are various types of orogenic belts formed in different geological periods, as well as active orogenic belts in present days. Continental geodynamics is becoming more and more important in the understanding of major orogenesis and continental formations. The decoding of deep structure, composition and geodynamics of orogenic belts is an important subject for geologists, geophysicists, and geochemists. We welcome submissions on all aspects of global continental convergent boundaries and orogenic belts, ancient and modern.
