ED009
Bringing Space Science to a Diverse America

Session ID#: 82241

Session Description:
There now exists a multitude of space science educational materials and programs aimed at increasing the country's overall STEM literacy and highlighting the amazing discoveries being made about our universe. What remains is to make these exemplary products and programs available, accessible, and usable for a wide spectrum of audiences throughout the United States. This includes applications of technology to increase the reach and accessibility of resources, communications training for professional/amateur scientists and informal educators to be better ambassadors of content, and reaching out to unique segments of the country with specialized, culturally appropriate approaches to learning. This session will focus on the application of best practices and underlying principles to solving problems and associated with making space science discoveries available, accessible, and usable to the country.
