An Honest Conversation about Failure
An Honest Conversation about Failure

Abstract:
Early-career scientists are often evaluated based on our merits and success in our respective career paths while failures in the journey are always overlooked. In fact, no one can succeed without experiencing failures along the way. Rejection of manuscripts, grant/fellowship proposal, and failed experiments are just a normal part of our career. Without normalizing the experience of failure, early-career scientists often feel a strong sense of frustration, anxiety, and depression, especially for early-career scientists from underrepresented groups. In this session, we will have an open and honest conversation on failure and how to leverage failures to future success.
