Air pollution, greenhouse gases and emissions in Asia and its interactions with the world

Session ID#: 158832

Session Description:
Asia is a major source region of air pollutants and greenhouse gases. Changes in its emissions, air pollution and greenhouse gases not only affect regional environment and ecosystems tremendously, but also have worldwide consequences through long-range pollution transport, climate change and other mechanisms. Meanwhile, Asia is influenced by other regions. Under economic globalization, trade activities have connected global consumption and production with substantial inter-regional transfer of emissions and environmental burdens. This session will focus on Asian air pollution, greenhouse gases and emissions and its interactions with other regions. Abstracts on measurements, modeling, empirical analyses, and/or projections are welcomed.
Co-Organized:
  • GC - Global Environmental Change
  • GH - GeoHealth
