Climate Services in the Central U.S.: Serving Agriculture and Water Sectors in a Changing Climate

Session ID#: 161540

Session Description:
Over the last century the Central US developed into a dominant agricultural region for the world.  A changing climate in the region is now influencing agriculture, water and associated sectors.  These sectors have specific needs to understand and manage in the current, variable, and changing climates.  This session will include papers on the specific needs of the sectors and discuss partnerships and services for various agricultural and water systems currently and in the future.  Several federal and state partners and stakeholders will address specific information needs and services and how information is created, delivered and incorporated into user decisions.  This session will be unique in illustrating the cycle from information needs, creation and use in a sector and a region that is attempting to stay resilient in the face of climate change.
