Observing Air-Sea Interactions Strategy (OASIS) “Big Asks” and “Grand Ideas” for 2030
Session ID#: 161912
Session Description:
The Observing Air-Sea Interactions Strategy (OASIS) is an endorsed United Nations Ocean Science for Sustainable Development programme working to develop a practical, integrated approach for observing air-sea interactions globally for improving Earth system (including ecosystem) forecasts and for providing CO2 uptake and critical ocean-atmosphere transition zone information. This Science Session welcomes presentations of “Big Asks” related to in situ and remotely sensed air-sea interaction observations and advancement of understanding and representation of these processes within a hierarchy of Earth system models. The session also welcomes presentations describing Grand Ideas for implementing the “Big Asks” and strengthening capacity and partnerships globally.
