Collective Work: Funding and Collaborating on International Projects and Research

Session will present: Remotely
Affiliated Society or Committee Name: Student and Emerging Professionals Committee
This session invites papers that explore the roles, benefits, and challenges of working collectively to enable artistic and research projects worldwide. Co-hosted by the Students and Emerging Professionals Committee (SEPC) and the International Committee (IC), this panel highlights diverse visions and approaches that initiate and sustain collaborative practices in the arts. We aim to gather inspiring transglobal perspectives from artists, academics, funders, organizers, art communities, and others. Topics may be specific to a particular field, career stage, region, or community.

Papers can be in any format (academic or informal storytelling); but should outline practical details of your knowledge and experience working with others and/or funding internationally-based projects for a broad audience that includes students, and both emerging and established professionals and scholars. Topics of discussion may include but are not limited to: modes of funding academic projects (project grant, fellowship) and artistic projects (award, commission, residency), and/or modes of initiating and sustaining collaborative work (annual program, art space, art group, academic working group).

Presentations will be 10 minutes each and followed by a roundtable discussion, providing the panel and session attendees with new perspectives.
