CTRL + ALT + RESIST

We often look to the past to examine how societies have disrupted the status quo in order to expose and critique power. Artists and intellectuals are often amongst the first to respond to socio-political issues and their methods have evolved with each new generation. While every generation faces societal upheavals, the challenges faced today are unprecedented and rapidly evolving within a globally interconnected population. Within the specific context of the United States and the current political landscape, this panel will feature a group of interdisciplinary art historians, scholars, and artists, each presenting how their research contributes to efforts of resistance and subversion ranging from radical pedagogy and visual language in arts practices, to bioart, material studies, and collective futurity.
