Cultivating Creativity in Rural Educational Environments

Session will present: On location
Affiliated Society or Committee Name: Student and Emerging Professionals Committee
How does higher education in rural communities differ from higher education in metropolitan areas? The strategies for teaching students within these populations require an understanding of the student population, geography, socioeconomic institutions, and the cultural history of the region. Educators and curators have generated creative solutions to navigate distance, funding concerns, and active participation in the arts sector. In this panel, we will explore new perspectives in pedagogy, curation, digital humanities projects, accessibility, cultural history, and more.
